Our Town

Our Town

This timeless drama of life in the mythical village of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire, has become an American classic with universal appeal. Thornton Wilder’s most frequently performed play, Our Town appeared on Broadway in 1938 to wide acclaim, and won the Pulitzer Prize. This “quiet masterpiece”, presents the circle of life: growing up, adulthood, and death, in an intimate look at the things that truly matter in life, all portrayed with theatrical simplicity, using a bare stage as the backdrop for an exploration of the universal human experience. The story of a lifelong love affair asks timeless questions about the meaning of love, life and death, and reminds us all to stop and notice the beauty around us.

Upon seeing her with another man, he is thrown into a jealous rage and driven to murder, though all is not what it may at first seem, and slowly Ernest’s guilt sends him on a spiraling descent into madness.
