Meet Our Thespian Officers: Troupe 398

 

President: Jaida Davis

Jaida Davis is the President of JCATD this year. She is a senior in the academy and has been here since 2020. She has been in numerous shows in JCATD and out side of JCATD. She has been in shows such as Sister Act jr (Michelle), Into The Woods jr (Little Red), BKLYN (Cityweed), Les Miseràble (Eponine), All Together Now (Chorus), Ernest And The Pale Moon (Chorus), BatBoy the Musical (Daisy), The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (Lucy), Our Town (Rebecca Gibbs), Four Little Girls (Carole Robertson), Big Fish (The Witch), The Curious Incident of the Dog In The Night-Time (Siobhan), Wolves (#00) and The Laramie Project (Marge Murray). She will also be the Director of this year’s Evolution Of Time production. She plans to further her education at……..she don’t know yet but be ready. She is so grateful to be say she was apart of something so special. She is so happy to close the final Chapter of her High School career with such an amazing group of people and some really good shows. Her love for JCATD will always have a special place in her heart. <3

 

Vice President: Natalyn Baker

Natalyn Baker is currently a senior at Jefferson County International Baccalaureate High School (JCIB) and the Jefferson County Academy of Theatre and Dance (JCATD). She is delighted to be serving Troupe 398’s Vice President for the 2023-2024 school year. Natalyn has been a member of the academy since her freshman year and is thrilled to be concluding her high school theatre career with JCATD. Since she was little, she had an interest in musical theatre due to her passion to sing. She was introduced to acting through the Bards of Birmingham, a local non-profit theatre in downtown Birmingham. She has been in various JCATD shows, from both the tech and acting perspective. She wants to give a special thank you to her mother who has always been supportive of her in the arts and who has also taught her that the sky is the limit. She is excited to see where this season takes her!

Secretary: Chris Craig

Chris Craig is a senior this year at the Jefferson County Academy of Theater and Dance. He believes that theater is one of the most beautiful art forms and thoroughly immerses himself in it as much as possible. From performance to costuming to stage managing he can always be seen doing something in the theater, for the theater. He intends on majoring in the dramatic arts with a minor in business communications and advertisement. He thanks everyone in troupe 398 for allowing him to continue working for them and electing him to this position.

 

Treasurer: Zion Carmichael

Zion Carmichael is a Shades Valley/ JCATD senior . Not new to the stage, Zion has been performing since the age of 3. Zion’s dream is to professionally pursue acting, landing on the world - renowned Broadway stage and much more . Zion loves all things involved with theatre and is excited to be this years treasure!

Historian:

Thatcher Carter

Thatcher Carter is a Junior this year at J.C.A.T.D and is proud to be the 2023-2024 Historian! He has been doing theater for seven years, you might have seen him at shows like All Together Now, Our town, Bat Boy The Musical, Curious Incident of a Dog in the Night Time, and Les Miserable! He also does shows at Virginia Samford Theater.

 

Publicity Chair:

Jaela Pittman

Jaela is a Junior here at Jefferson County Academy of Theatre and Dance. Her previous credits include, Stage Manager of “Bat Boy the Musical”, Mrs.Alexander, Posh Woman, Voice One in “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”, an Assistant Stage Manager in “The Laramie Project”, and so much more. She is excited to be Publicity Chair and bring her ideas to the academy!
